Des praticiens ont constaté que le port de lentilles rigides entraînait des variations de la kératométrie. Face à ce constat, ils ont utilisé cette malléabilité cornéenne pour agir sur les amétropies. C'est ce qu'on appelle l'orthokératologie.

Afin de mieux comprendre les changements occasionnés par l'orthokératologie, nous avons tenté d'analyser les déformations engendrées par le port durant un quart d'heure de lentilles asphériques alignées, serrées, et plates.

Nous avons pour cela relevé la topographie cornéenne avant et après port de chaque lentille.

L'analyse fait apparaître une modification des courbures cornéennes, cependant les déformations sont complexes et difficiles à analyser. De plus il semble y avoir une relation entre la géométrie de la cornée et les déformations.

Some practitioners have noticed that wearing contact lenses caused changes in the keratometry. Faced with such discovery, they have used this corneal malleability to act upon the refractive error. This is what we call orthokeratology.

In order to better understand the changes caused by the orthokeratology,we have tried to analyze the deformations induced by aspheric contact lenses worn during a quater of an hour, one of them fitted on K, another steeper than K, and another flatter than K.

We have therefore taken the corneal topography down, before and after the wear of each contact lens.The analysis reveals an alteration in the corneal radius, however, the deformations are complex and difficult to analyze. Moreover it

looks as if there were connections between the geometry of the cornea and the deformations.
